If you are looking for places like Big Bear that offer a rustic yet luxurious escape, you have to check out the Alpenhorn Lodge. It’s February 2nd, 2020 in the Big Bear Lake California area. I wanted you guys to check out this spot because a lot of you want me to do reviews on places that I’m staying at up here. This is one of the nicest most romantic places I’ve ever seen ever. It’s called the Alpenhorn Lodge and I’m renting it for 3 nights.
It’s just me but you gotta think that’s pretty ridiculous when you see how big it is. But you know what like I need to get away every once in a while. Ladies, I’m single okay sure.
The allure of mountain towns like Big Bear lies in their ability to transport you to a different world, one where the air is crisp, the pace is slower, and the surroundings are nothing short of majestic. While Big Bear is a household name, finding accommodation that elevates the experience from a simple trip to an unforgettable memory is key. The Alpenhorn Lodge does exactly that, setting a high bar for what a mountain retreat should be.
The Grand Tour: Downstairs Delights
So we enter the entryway and here we go. Let’s just begin over here. I mean everything in here is just rustic and beautiful. Love it. Oh look at the fireplace. Oh yeah. So anyway we’ll stick to this part of the tour because there’s a lot of this place to tour. I want you guys to kind of get a sense of how majestical this place is. “Majestical,” if that’s a word, perfectly encapsulates the vibe. It feels grand yet intimate, a balance that is hard to strike.
The architecture speaks to a classic mountain lodge aesthetic but with a level of polish that screams luxury. The wood finishes, the stone accents, and the sheer scale of the rooms make you feel like you’ve stepped into a private resort rather than just a rental home.
I think these are actually like maid’s quarters so I’m not sure if I’m actually supposed to be back here but I’m a good person. Even the service areas of the house are impressive, hinting at the level of operation it takes to run a property of this magnitude.
Here’s the pantry one of the pantries here. Look at how beautiful this is guys. Look at how just adorable this is. I mean whatever you need here they have everything. Everything you need to cook with. They’ve got like a smoker out back four or five different barbecues. For anyone who loves to cook or host, this kitchen setup is a dream. It’s not just functional; it’s designed for creating feasts.
The Game Room and Amenities
How did I go already through here yes. So now we’re gonna cut through here and go into the game room area. These are three high powered gaming computers for people who like to game and enjoy gaming. This is unexpected for a mountain lodge, usually you expect board games and maybe a dart board, but high-end gaming PCs? That’s next level.
This is one of the game rooms and just kind of chill rooms right here. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the slopes or hiking the trails. The thoughtful inclusion of modern entertainment alongside traditional cabin comforts makes this place versatile for all kinds of guests.
I don’t know if you guys can see all those heat lamps right outside. That’s the jacuzzi out there and you can swim laps in it too. This is the other side of the fireplace that’s looking in at or towards the front door that we walked in on. The flow of the house is incredible, connecting indoor comfort with outdoor allure seamlessly.
Look at this big beautiful dining table dining room table. It’s just spectacular. Just perfect for up here. I mean they have everything everything you need here guys everything you need here. Whether it’s a Thanksgiving dinner or a casual breakfast, this table is the heart of the home.
So let’s go back into this this little nook where there’s another game room and all that stuff back here. Well here’s another entryway so we can come in through here also this is through one of the backside doors so that’s pretty cool huh.
And this is one of the other game rooms so it’s going here and just kind of check it out you guys can see what this place is all about. This is by far my favorite place that I stayed and I haven’t even spent the night yet. I’m telling you man I’m that’s Brad Pitt in the house like this. The sheer variety of spaces means that even with a large group, everyone can find their own corner to relax or have fun.
Let’s see so this is what this is the bathroom in the game room look at all frickin cute this is man this is just unbelievably adorable shower yeah pretty cool man. Even the secondary bathrooms have character and charm, sparing no detail in design.
The Alpenhorn Lodge look at this guys and then I can turn this into a ping pong table with this over here and that’s what we’re gonna be doing a lot of then there’s pool or just gaming stuff ping pong stuff. It’s set up for endless entertainment. You could get snowed in here for a week and never be bored.
Outdoor Oasis: Jacuzzis and Sledding
So we’re going to take a quick look outside. There’s another fireplace I know I’m gonna miss some place in this house so forgive me guys okay. And this is gonna be so cool. But this property’s an acre okay so it’s quite large and in charge. An acre of land in a popular destination like Big Bear is a luxury in itself, providing privacy and space to explore.
Yeah make sure this door stop stops okay. So out here for people to come out here and hang out they have these incredibly just gnarly heating systems out here so you can be out here in snow storms and blizzards and have a great time. This is a game-changer. Usually, outdoor spaces become unusable in winter evenings, but here, the environment is controlled for year-round enjoyment.
The jacuzzi it’s like a small pool it’s freakin humongous. Like I’ve never seen a jacuzzi so big in my life. It’s practically a swim spa. You could fit a whole party in there, or just float around solo feeling like royalty.
But this is the we haven’t been to this side of the house yet and there’s still an upstairs to go to also. It got a little fish pond here and a little stream and a place to go sledding in the winter time. They built a sledding park in the backyard here. This whole thing’s the Alpenhorn this is all the Alpenhorn. Having your own private sledding hill avoids the crowded public snow play areas, making it safer and more fun for families.
Let’s see here. It’s not beautiful that is barbecue barbecue barbecue smoker. I mean it’s just it’s just spectacular this place you guys. A big deck out here. You know what I’m so cold but we’re gonna check out this deck. This is amazing it’s all mine. The expansive decking allows for outdoor dining, sunbathing, or just breathing in that fresh mountain air.
A nice deck to hang out there another deck to hang out here and here’s where the kids keep go sledding. They built a sledding ramp right here. How cool is that. There’s the steps to get up to the top. Very cool man. This is a big property. Here’s another private deck out here. There’s the Alpenhorn Lodge right there look at this guys this is spectacular. Shed there a nice little swing area a swinging wooden benches so those are great.
Bedroom Suites: Luxury in Every Corner
So we got to go back in and check out like every one of the rooms is a suite and they all have like a fireplace and their own coffee makers and all that stuff like this is amazing. So yeah yeah big that thing is extent insane.
This whole place is mine guys we still haven’t seen even half of it yet so let’s take a look at the rest. Lock it up lock it up bro. All right so now we’re walking back in through the game area and I will find you you beeping bass tidge.
The Downstairs Suites
So we’re gonna go through the rest of the tour of the downstairs. Let’s go into this major bedroom over here. The room is freaking huge. These are two king beds in this this one room down here. It’s just ridiculous guys this place is humongous just humongous. The scale of the bedrooms ensures that no guest feels like they got the “bad room.”
That’s Ted another fireplace and TVs and just a beautiful beautiful bathroom with another jacuzzi bathtub they all have two koozie bathtubs to every single room this place is just spectacular you guys. Oh my god it’s so romantic uh I wish I had a girl here. Seriously I’d order some catering in and all that stuff they have some company come and cook for us man be awesome.
When you stay in places like Big Bear, you gotta do stuff like this. It inspires a certain lifestyle—one of indulgence and relaxation.
Here’s one of the other suites downstairs. Here’s the there look at that jacuzzi bath holy smokes that thing’s humongous and look at this walk-in shower Wow. Dude are you kidding me dude that is awesome that is awesome then right here when you’re just dropping a deuce you can look at these beautiful kind of in a way like haunting old school I don’t know feels like I’m at the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland but that’s okay. It adds character and a unique vibe to the stay.
It is pet friendly to you guys can you believe that. Finding luxury accommodations that allow pets is rare, making this lodge even more of a gem. As I said the coffee maker and all that stuff here so this is a adorable room right here what’s going on here this TV’s not on how how dare that be how dare that be.
All right so so yeah this is another room with a nice patio let me unlock it here all right let me try to unlock there we go so a nice little private patio for you guys this is the very corner of the property so it’s very quiet if you have a bunch of guests here you can just kind of get away over here and do what you do do what you do. Privacy within a group setting is a luxury, and these private patios deliver just that.
So let’s head back out of this suite and go into the next one down here so this is the last one down here I believe another full bathroom shower and jacuzzi tub look at this guys I mean come on this place is ridiculous like that gotta love it got to love it.
Oh my gosh guys this place is just so peaceful I mean it really is it really is and everything about it it’s just it’s it’s just it’s kind of like what I was raised in type stuff and I think about a lot of great memories so this is this is great. The nostalgia factor of a log cabin combined with modern amenities creates a deeply comforting atmosphere.
This is another sweet as you can see we just went into the bathroom and pretty soon this just closet yep just a closet and then let’s over here this is a patio right here they got their own patio their own private patio right here with the jacuzzi view and everything so they can just hop the fence right here and going to the jacuzzi if they don’t want to walk all the way around to the other side of the house which trust me this place is freaking huge I can understand.
And I didn’t turn this light on how dare I. All right oh the other side no that looks better right oh yeah okay yeah this place is great you guys I feel so comfortable here.
The Upstairs Experience
Alright so I think we’ve done the whole downstairs let’s let’s go upstairs. Look at this mural guys going upstairs just marvelous dude. “Yesterday’s history tomorrow’s a mystery today is a gift.” I like that. A little inspirational quote to set the mood as you ascend to the upper level.
We got skylights up here also and this is this is this is terrific you guys so we’ll start on the far left over here this is another suite.
So we’ll start in the bathroom here. I think guys this place is ridiculous and Hey look at this look at this time it looks like it’s not a jacuzzi tub though wow I’m shocked but it’s still a really beautiful and deep dug deep dug deep to hug. Sometimes a soaking tub is just as good, if not better, for a quiet, relaxing bath.
And this room is called Rosebank so we’re in Rose Bay another fireplace in the room they’ve got their own little patio right here too. A little private escape I’m able to do this okay there we go so this is trying to con you up here very cool. Do you get ticket.
All right so let’s get back in here yes guys look how beautiful this room is because of of the views waking up right there. Waking up to pine trees and mountain vistas is the quintessential Big Bear experience.
Caesar there is a TV in here. I was about to flip out are you kidding hey man I’m gonna turn them all on right me Greg yeah so we got the TV on everywhere and all the lights and everything it just makes me feel more calm I don’t know why like it’s a house being lived in it’s actually the beauty like this I mean look at just downstairs just how beautiful this place is it’s just ridiculously huge I mean it’s ginormous this place.
It’s going to this other suite this one’s called Snowbell see ya Snowbell check it out here once again just a really relaxing just mellow out mysterion here you got to love it you got to love it it’s just so peaceful in here but Alpenhorn lodge and then once again bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower and I see that I’m not I see that all right so we’re leaving this room right now see you later Snowbell.
No let’s go over here and see what we got we’ll start over here to the left what’s over here to the left okay so we’re gonna go into this room on the left here then and we’ll start into the bathroom I guess so here’s another bathroom this room is called Primrose Primrose okay.
Yeah it’s place is gorgeous you guys beautiful beautiful walk-in shower and it’s just beautiful man everything about this place is wonderful. Another jacuzzi tub and why do these lights not seem to be over here up here what’s going on oh well maybe oh there we go huh you got to be smarter than the damn thing.

There’s another private patio all right so Wendy I hear you guys holy moly but right here this is nice wind protection actually right here this is great and this thing spits out heat can you believe it how cool is that dude oh my god I’m like warm out here that is weird this place is amazing you guys remember what I showed you earlier the unbelievably crazy cool heating system to have for outside downstairs.
Alright so let’s go into the other suite make a left okay so this is entering this suite now and this suite is called a Marella alright it’s very just awesome you guys I love this I love this once again a full suite full bathroom walk-in shower and ooh this place is fantastic and of course a jacuzzi tub I mean it’s just ridiculous how nice this place is so let’s make sure the room alright.
Wow this is incredible let’s go out on this private patio there’s so many patios like and I don’t even know if we’ve seen the whole place because I’m really a kind of lost okay here’s oh cool this is above that Jacuzzi area and all the heat lamps and stuff dude how cool is that man anyway yeah this place is an epic epic epic epic so anyway let’s go back in.
Okay so guys that is the tour of the pretty much little castle I’m staying at for the next three nights.
